Photographer: Vince John,  who originally commissioned the artwork, shot a few mins after finishing the piece.  What a blessing that STINK popped down and shared some columbian love.  STINKFISH is a columbian based artist, who came to Bristol in 2012 to paint this mural for the Rebel Soul show on Stokes Croft.  Restored in September 2021 with the help of the bristol fam. 1love.

The funfair is a spark of light in the shadow of everyday life. An enchanted parenthesis where anything becomes possible, where, for a fleeting moment, the weight of reality is lifted. Ephemeral and fragile, it is no less universal: a space of connection, of dreams, and of fantasy.

Together with my brother, Renaud Le Mailloux, we carried this conviction for ten long years, with patience and determination, until, on December 4, 2024, this magic was officially inscribed into UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage. This recognition is far more than just a title. It is a promise: a commitment to preserving a centuries-old tradition and ensuring that fairground artists — these tightrope walkers of imagination — are granted their rightful place in our modern societies.

Fairground performers embody a quiet resistance. They defy time, indifference, and sometimes scorn to offer each of us a fleeting escape. Their fight is also ours: to defend minorities, to uphold traditions that unite rather than divide, and to remind us all that the ephemeral has its own kind of eternity.

This unique edition also pays tribute to Banksy, whose work deeply inspires me. His creations, particularly his Dismaland series, capture the tension between wonder and cruelty, between brilliance and shadow. It felt natural to weave his vision into this project.

All proceeds from this initiative will be donated to a charitable organization because the funfair, beyond its lights and laughter, is above all a story of sharing. A story that continues, fragile yet eternal, carried by those who refuse to surrender to resignation.
