The ladies were born from an idea about generations and how they shape us.

Inspired by heirlooms from previous generations using vintage and antique china, some predating world war 2 in in its production.

I used these pieces of china to create a series of works centered around the body, most notably the female form. I loved using the patterns that would be considered dated to create tattoos, coloured hair and body modifications, something that is more representative of the current generations.

Although this work is open to interpretation, I find myself drawn to the idea of generations.

China being a traditional wedding and celebratory gift, a symbol of progression in life, family heirlooms.
