The Notorious DBK
Occasionally you come across a writer whose creativity and notoriety is half a mile up the street ahead of him and Kapes, after years of graft on the dirty streets of the UK with the DBK crew, has become somewhat notorious for insane reaches and throw ups at heights that would make most peoples toes curl.
A Coat Of Paint – Original Mixed Media and collage
As part of Bristols DBK crew and often seen tagged alongside the current vanguard of UK street writers, it was no surprise to hear Kapes mentioned whilst listening to John Nation from ‘Where’s The Wall’ Bristol street art tour, in relation to a BANKSY on Park street, Bristol.
This is, in fact the only publicly owned BANKSY in the city. On having a closer look, yep maybe tagged up during some late night escapade? Hard to tell… :/
And so the wheel turns as the next generation of UK artists and devoted street writers are biting at the heels of Bristols’ most highly regarded and equally resented artist, BANKSY.

Kapes – Dirty Bristol Kids – Original
In October 2024 it was a pleasure to offer a selection of Kapes’ work alongside Curbside Ethos, in the Clifton Arcade, Bristol.
Selling a massive selection of originals and various prints and merch, with pieces going out to Europe and the USA, Kapes solo show was shown the recognition it deserved. I thought I’d showcase some images below.
