KRIMSONE – St Werburghs Park, Bristol
Australian artist KRIMSONE flew into the UK last week for a whistle-stop tour of Bristol, refreshing the side of the mens hostel in St Werburghs with his piece ‘Toxic Positivity.’
After hitting up BLANK WALLS, London, BLANK WALLS got in touch with us and we offered KRIMSONE the wall on the side of the mens hostel on the edge of St Werburghs park, a wall we have previously hosted for STINKFISH (columbia) in 2021 and 2014.
It was about time it had a refresh and it’s great to welcome another international artist to Bristol. KRIMSONE’s new mural now sits beautifully on the edge of St Werburghs Park, Bristol.
Thanks to BLANK WALLS who we’re happy to help with some logistics and scaffolding, we sorted the wall and threw some spray-paint KRIM’s way alongside Curbside Ethos and we were on! Respect to Cons369 for his help with filming, stills.
What a superb piece of work, which considering the short notice, and stormy weather, it’s a miracle he pulled it off!
We caught up with the artist between showers and asked him a few quick questions;
What got you into Art?
KRIMSONE: Grafitti.
What’s the piece called and what’s it about?
The piece is called ‘Toxic Positivity,’ it’s about trusting your own feelings and not getting influenced by other people’s forceful positivity…
What sort of work do you make as an artist?
KRIMSONE: As well as murals and street pieces, I paint canvases, I draw, spray-paint, oils, really most mediums of art apart from sculpture.
What’s your next project?
KRIMSONE: The next project is a wall in Belgium in a town called Hasselt in a weeks time, I’ll fly from here to Belgium on Friday, relax for a day or two and then yeah go start the next one.
How did you get here to paint this wall in Bristol?
KRIMSONE: Last year I painted a wall in London for Blank Walls and they were kinda my network in London and England. Then this year I hit them up while I was in Belgium and they got in contact with 1LOVE Bristol and they really helped me out getting this wall set up with Curbside Ethos. I’ve had an awesome week, despite the endless showers!
